Meet Mams
Mams was feral, traveling with a small pack of dogs when we first saw her. After the majority of her pack decided to live with us, she remained aloof but would not be far from view. It took a year and half before she agreed to honor us with her presence and that was five years ago. Now she only goes out into the acre to sun herself or to take care of her daily needs. Then it's back inside to lay on her blanket. She is a sweetheart and although she avoids other people, she loves us and for that we are grateful.

Awww - what a blessing she is too. Goes to show that even a feral dog can be tammed down with time, patience, and love.
So wonderful that she accepted your family.
When I was a child a wild Alsatian adopted us. He would accept our food, but never let us closer than a yard or two.

What a beautiful portrait, and what a lucky girl to have found such wonderful humans to look after her. :)
you rarely hear about feral dogs at all, especially ones that are gentle and acclimate into their new furever home. Thanks for sharing "Mams" with us!
What a beautiful face!
Cherie thank you for visiting us and your very kind words.
Mams is lovely how wonderful she learnt to trust you.
Your photos are stunning! I love taking pictures. Looking forward to getting to know you and your family.

She's gorgeous! I'm sure she's grateful to have a loving family and home.
She is really gorgeous! I'm glad she could trust you enough to let those walls down and stay with her pack - which now included you! There's something beautiful in the creation of that bond - LOVE!
new follower on friday blog hop. Love the story. I have a rescue bernese mountain dog and he lived in our closet for 7 weeks before he would venture into the kitchen and stay awhile. I have a post of him from a few weeks ago, "Owen the Wonder Dog." laura
