Saying Goodbye Is Never Easy

We said goodbye to Caleb today. He was diagnosed with cancer in October and we were fortunate enough to have these past months with him.  I will miss his goodbye barking as we leave for work each morning, but I believe  we will meet again in heaven.  He is now with Ernie, Holly, and Noel who went before him. It is never easy to lose a family member but I know eventually the sorrow will be replaced with wonderful memories.

sorry to hear about Caleb. A dogs only fault is its short life.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet
goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals that had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops
and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet,
you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Good bye Caleb, until the day we meet again.

We heard about Caleb from Wyatt's blog. We just wanted to stop by and wish you blessings and comfort. This is a hard thing to go through, no matter how many times it happens. It would be so great if people and their dogs had the same lifespan. But you are right, we will meet in Heaven.

Blessings,

Just left Wyatt's blog and wanted to say hello and I am sorry for your loss of a wonderful family member. I have six dogs myself, and my old girl is 15. Every day is a blessing she is still here, but I know time is limited. Your heart is full of love for dogs and Caleb had a wonderful life I can tell. A beautiful dog. They never leave you as you carry them in your heart always. Barbara
