Is that a cardinal? Our females are similarly muted, but don't have the red around the beak. I have a pair in my yard now - love them. (If she's not a cardinal, I'd love to know what she is.)

What a gorgeous bird! Of course, she knows she's photogenic and I believe that's why she sat so calmly for you!
